Overkill co-founder and bassist D.D. Verni has brought back his side project Bronx Casket Co. and signed a record deal with eOne, which is also home to his main band.

"I am totally psyched to be working with eOne for the new Bronx Casket release! They did an amazing job with the Overkill record and I know they will do the same for this," Verni said in a statement. "Having a label home where people 'get' it and are psyched to work a record is a great feeling."

Verni started Bronx Casket Co. back in 1998 as a way to challenge himself to write new and different material and to provide himself with a creative outlet beyond thrash. Their as-yet-untitled eOne debut will be the first release in five years.

Additionally, the band isn't limited by genre parameters in any capacity, and they captured the interest of playwright Andrea Lepcio. That got the band working on 'The Bronx Cask Co.: A New Musical.' The show is currently in the writing stages, and it boasts a gothic score woven into a twisted love story. Songs from the first BCC releases will be included, as well as 13 other songs Verni wrote specifically for the musical.
