Something about Poison frontman Bret Michaels serenading Regis Philbin just doesn't make sense. Actually, nothing about it makes sense. Regardless, that is exactly what happened last Wednesday. Regis, host of 'Live! With Regis and Kelly' is bidding 'Adieu' (thanks Brett for your choice French vocabulary) to his marathon career as a talk show host and Brett Michael's retooled his hit 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' for the occasion, proving yet again that he will be living off that song for the rest of his life.

Taking the stage Michaels explained "I wrote a little something special right now. I just changed these lyrics up a little, I'm gonna make it great." Some of the choice lyrics include "Your suits are top notch, your hair it's always in style." That's poetry folks.

"I was on with [David] Letterman and [Vice President Joe] Biden - not a bad group" Michaels told the Charlotte Observer of his experience performing on one of Regis' final shows. "It was upbeat, a great vibe, but bittersweet. We've sort of formed a bond, because my father was in the Navy as was he, and both are big Notre Dame fans. I'd given him a gift of a guitar the last time I was on the show. He was asked who he wanted to perform for him."

So the retiring television host actually chose Bret Michaels to give him a farewell performance. Classic.
