Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera died in a plane crash en route from Monterrey, Mexico this weekend. The singer played a show on Saturday, Dec. 8 and her aircraft disappeared off the radar early Sunday morning (Dec. 9) shortly after takeoff. The wreckage was found Sunday afternoon, with no survivors. There were seven people on board the plane, including makeup artist Jacob Yebale, a friend of Poison frontman Bret Michaels.

Michaels released a statement paying tribute to and mourning the loss of his friend, which read as follows:

"I am deeply saddened hearing the news of the crash of Jenni Rivera's plane. Not only did the crash claim the life of Ms. Rivera but that of 4 [sic] other people including, Jacob Yebale, who was a great friend to all of us at Michaels Entertainment having worked with me, VH1 and 51 Minds on numerous shoots. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family as well as Ms. Rivera's and the other families who lost loved ones in this awful and sudden tragedy."

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends, family and fans of Rivera, as well as those of Yebale and the others lost in this tragic accident.
