Bon Jovi have recruited a temporary replacement for longtime guitarist Richie Sambora, who is in rehab to address sobriety issues. On Saturday at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, journeyman guitarist Phil 'Phil X' Xenidis made his debut as Sambora's temporary replacement.

So who is Phil X? He once replaced Rik Emmett in Triumph, and is a session player who has worked with everyone from Alice Cooper to Rob Zombie, as well as with pop stars like Avril Lavigne.

The Times-Picayune reported that Phil X played with Bon Jovi for nearly two hours on Saturday, ripping out an especially killer solo during 'Blood on Blood.'

The band only referenced Sambora once during its set, right before the final encore of 'Livin' on a Prayer.'

"We'll send this out to our brother Richie," Jon Bon Jovi reportedly said.

Bon Jovi have confirmed that they will continue with their touring schedule as planned. The band has dates booked in North America through May, followed by a spate of dates in Europe through July.
