Blood Has Been Shed guitarist/songwriter Corey Unger got struck by lightning approximately a year ago. But rather than the unfortunate incident be a scythe that cut off Unger's creativity, it only served to enhance it. "That dude got struck by lightning and went crazier," BHBS vocalist Howard Jones told Noisecreep.

Jones, who doubles as the singer for Killswitch Engage, reveals that a new album by his other band "will see the light of day eventually and people will be baffled by it." Unger has already written at least 15 tunes for what will be BHBS's fourth album. "You have never heard anything like this," Jones promises. "Period. You know that jump we made from 'Novella of Uriel' to 'Spirals'? He made that jump again." Jones attests that music will, in fact, be brutal and that "the stuff Corey is thinking of is virtually impossible to do or explain. There is one song where he wants to have two bands playing at once, against each other, and then have the songs merge. He tosses ideas around that are even crazier than they were before the lightning struck!"

Unger was doing yard work under a clear sky, when all of the sudden, the hair on his arms stood up and he ended up on the ground. "His parents live a couple houses down and heard the thunder hit," Jones explains. "The only thing they didn't know was that lightning had hit their son! [Drummer] Justin [Foley, also KsE's drummer] summed it up best, saying, 'That lightning was a sucker. It struck the wrong dude.'" When it comes to Corey Unger and BHBS, that which doesn't kill you only makes you crazier. Or just able to write even more off-time, brain scrambling music!
