Swedish melodic rockers Blindside are returning to the scene after a four-year hiatus. Their sixth album, 'With Shivering Hearts We Wait,' is due out June 7th. So what brought the band, which once collaborated with Smashing Pumpkins head honcho Billy Corgan, out of semi-retirement?

"When we decided it was time to make another record, everyone's perspective was really renewed and we're super pumped right now to be doing the band again," frontman Christian Lindskog said. "We just needed to break away from music for a bit because it starts to define who you are when you should be finding it in a higher purpose. We've been living a different life for the past few years, but have always remained friends within the band."

During the downtime, the band members focused on family and other important matters, taking some time off after spending what felt like a lifetime on the road. The band then reconnected with Howard Benson, the producer who manned the boards for 2002's 'Silence' and 2004's 'About a Burning Fire.'

"The similarities between 'With Shivering Hearts We Wait' and past projects is that we're always striving to get the right songs for a project, and the spirit is still Blindside," said Lindskog. "But this album is very different in the sense that it took us a lot longer to write and record it. We used to get everyone in a room and start jamming, but this time we started with an acoustic framework that was eventually translated into rock 'n' roll songs."
