Just off a sizzling run on the Vans Warped Tour, blessthefall recently announced The Nut Up or Shut Up Tour. Presented by Peter Says Denim, the American trek will feature support from A Skylit Drive, At the Skylines and Skip the Foreplay. The 22-date tour kicks off with a stop on the California Metalfest in San Bernardino, Calif. on Nov. 24 and will come just on the heels of the Never Say Died Tour through Europe.

blessthefall singer Beau Bokan spoke to Noisecreep about the new record they're starting work on and how married life with Canadian electro-pop star Lights is going. The two musicians got hitched in May of this year.

So right now you're in the middle of a rare stretch of not touring, right?

Exactly. We would have had two months off but we had a one-off festival in Colorado recently, but this has been the most time we've ever had of. So we're just writing all the news songs and having fun. We had such a great time on Warped Tour and really appreciated the response we got. We're super blessed to be going like we are, getting all of the new fans that we are and that really pumped us up for the next record. We still can't believe the reaction we got on Warped. It was crazy. Just amazing. Today, the inspiration and drive is there, and were trying to channel that positive energy in the new music, while still enjoying some time off.

And how are you enjoying married life?

It's been awesome. We've had a bit more time together than we did last year. We're both at the end of our record cycles coming up, putting out our last singles, and we're both starting to write again. So we're having a bit more time off, which is awesome, because we're finally getting out own place – it's really cool that we're finally getting this kind of time together. She'll have some one-off shows and I'll fly around with her. It's been really cool and I'm looking forward to our future. Neither of us really knows how to settle down so to speak, we're both very hyper, so even when we get time off, we're always running around doing stuff.

Can you imagine working together creatively?

I think so. It's something we have been talking about more and more. Right at the beginning everyone was like, "You guys should do a song together!" But we decided together we've never do anything just because somebody wanted us to. It would have to be something that came naturally and would be awesome for us to do. It's a possibility for sure. She records all of her own music, she has her own studio, she tracks all of her own stuff – so we were talking about maybe me recording some blessthefall demo vocals in the bedroom or something to start [laughs]. Our whole dynamic is really amazing and something I never thought could really happen. I'm super excited about all the possibilities. I mean, I wish I had half of her talent, but I'll do what I can do. She takes so much pride in what she does, and I think in her vein of music, very few people do it like does with the passion she has.

Any talk yet of kids?

Her sister has a little girl, Olive, and we both love her. And we talk about it and it can't happen just yet because of how our lives are, but eventually, definitely. Right now it's a little crazy to think about that though. We wouldn't want to have a child when we are away for too long, but when the time is right, for sure.
