Black Sabbath Optimistic About Another Album

Black Sabbath have been fairly non-committal about their next album, choosing to be cautious rather than pinning down specific plans, but those hoping for more music after the ’13’ success story can get a little excited about comments they made at the Grammy Awards, where they won the trophy for Best Metal Performance (‘God Is Dead?’).

According to Rolling Stone, the three founding members were questioned about further music. Ozzy Osbourne stated, “We’re going back on the road. We haven’t really spoken about it beyond that. I’m down for it.” Guitarist Tony Iommi added, “Absolutely.”

Though Sabbath had several false starts with Osbourne over the years, the ’13’ album was a case of perfect timing. Iommi said, “We were all into it. This time everything fell into place and it felt great.” Geezer Butler added, “We didn’t know what to expect. It felt like the natural thing to do, rather than doing it for the sake of doing it. We just wanted to be together and play together again and write songs. We didn’t want to go out on tour and do the same set we’ve been doing for 30 years.”

As Ozzy stated, Black Sabbath still have dates ahead of them promoting the ’13’ album, including a 2014 North American tour.
