Back in February, after Black Sabbath was forced to scrap its reunion tour following guitarist Tony Iommi's lymphona diagnosis, Sharon Osbourne revealed in a radio interview that the band would manage one summer show in the United States. The wife and manager of lead singer Ozzy Osbourne said only that the gig would be in August, and now, rumors are swirling the group will headline Lollapalooza.

The festival takes place Aug. 3-5 in Chicago, and the purportedly legit lineup that leaked today has the metal pioneers joining the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Keys, Jack White and Florence + the Machine on the list of headliners.

If Sabbath does, indeed, sign on for the three-day Chi-Town throwdown, there remains the question, MetalInsider.net points out, of who will sit behind the drum kit. Original timekeeper Bill Ward has been feuding with his bandmates for months, lobbying for what he says is a more equitable contract.

Maybe Ozzy, Tony and bassist Geezer Butler can borrow a drum machine from one of Lolla's rap acts. Those things never ask for more money.
