Black Label Society have released the music video for their cover of the bluesy classic ‘Ain’t No Sunshine.’ Though the music stays true to the melancholy tone of the Bill Withers original, the video heads in the opposite direction.

Black Label Society frontman Zakk Wylde is known for his wicked sense of humor, and that trait is put on full display in this video. Wearing a horse mask that’s more creepy than cute, Wylde pines after the love that’s left him. His female interest, a unicorn, has moved onto a relationship with an abusive rooster.

This leads to arguably the greatest horse vs rooster fight ever captured on film. A cameo from Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul (playing the guitar, no less) only adds to the surrealistic feel of the clip.

‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ is one of two covers found on Black Label Society’s new CD/DVD ‘Unblackened.’ The release showcases the band’s acoustic side, as they strip down some of their classic songs including ‘Stillborn’ and ‘In This River.’ ‘Unblackened’ is due out Sept. 24, but can currently be preordered on iTunes.
