"I have great feeling about our upcoming record. It's basically writing and recording itself," Behemoth guitarist and vocalist Nergal told Noisecreep about the recording process. "We are just helping it a little bit. It's no struggle. Everything feels very natural. With 'The Apostasy,' we were stressing ourselves a lot. It's good to have a challenge, but not when it's out of control. With this new album, there's more feel to it."

The Polish black/death metal band, known for its furiously extreme riffs, recorded 'Evangelion' at Radio Gdansk in Poland. This is Behemoth's first effort for their new label, Metal Blade. Famed mixer Colin Richardson handled mixing duties. The band had wanted Richardson to mix 'The Apostasy,' but scheduling conflicts interfered with that wish becoming reality.

Nergal – Adam Narski to his momma – also said, "It's definitely a very mature album. It's a new chapter for us, not just music-wise but also with all the circumstances, such as the new record contracts and so on. It makes us feel enthusiastic about new songs. We record for ourselves in the first place. Of course, we would love people to dig it, but it was our satisfaction and fulfillment in first place on the list of priorities." 'Evangelion' is scheduled for an August 11 release.
