First, Polish metallers Behemoth dropped off the 2013 edition of the Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Now the band has elected to push back the release of its upcoming tenth studio album 'The Satanist.' The record is now due out in 2014.

There is a piece of good news accompanying the information that you will have to wait for Nergal and co. to release a new album of blackened death metal. The band will tour extensively behind 'The Satanist' in a headlining capacity.

The band has two European shows on the docket through the end of the year and that's it, but more will eventually surface as the album nears.

Regarding the title of the new album, Nergal said, "It took us over two decades to come up with a title that … says it all. While our new songs artistically take surprisingly adventurous directions, our message stands steadfast -- proud and radical. 'The Satanist' stands for undying yearning for liberation and love for freedom in all aspects of life. Considering all our life experiences that often took dramatic curves I couldn't think of more appropriate and fitting statement of who and where we are now."

We'll have to wait a few more months for this statement of ultimate Behemoth-ness, but something tells us it'll be worth the wait.
