Avenged Sevenfold have made not one, not two but three major reveals about their upcoming album. The O.C. hard rockers will drop their brand new record, titled 'Hail to the King,' on Aug. 27. The release is the band's sixth studio effort and follows 'Nightmare,' which topped the Billboard Top 200 chart back in 2010.

The band also shared the album cover, which features their signature skull-faced death bat in a warrior's pose and a sickle in his claws.

But wait. There's even more good news. To celebrate the album's release, the group will play a free show at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Aug. 26. Stay tuned as entry details for the event will be revealed shortly.

'Hail to the King' marks the first time drummer Arin Ilejay has played on an Avenged Sevenfold record. He took over for session and touring drummer Mike Portnoy, who filled in on 'Nightmare' and on the road after the death of A7X's The Rev, who passed away in 2009.

It's a thrilling time for A7X and their fans, as 'Hail the King' is one of the most anticipated metal releases of 2013. The marks their first new material since the band returned last year with the song 'Carry On' from the 'Call of Duty: Black Ops II' video game.
