We told you a couple months back that Mudvayne guitarist Greg Tribbett and drummer Matt McDonough teamed up with vocalist Billy Keetan (Skrape) and bassist Perry Stern to form the band . The group has now announced they have signed a record deal with Napalm Records, with their debut album expected to be released in late summer.

Tribbett says,  "Audiotopsy is the band that has been waiting to happen. All the stars aligned and here we are. It's some of the best music I've been a part of. We all cannot wait for everyone to hear it and we're excited to join forces with Napalm to make it all happen! See ya on tour!"

McDonough adds, "Sometimes your world only changes once. Sometimes your world changes forever. Sometimes we get to change together. Audiotopsy welcomes you, the change and the future. Thanks for joining us on our journey."

As far as the future of Mudvayne, who have been on hiatus since 2010, Tribbett's exit from Hellyeah about a year ago may affect that. Hellyeah and Mudvayne singer Chad Gray says, “I don’t know if the full band will [ever reunite]. Who knows — they might be putting something else together. We were talking for a while and that whole thing with Greg went down and everything kind of fell apart."

Gray continues, "Our relationship, which was the only truly solid relationship in the group, although Matt [McDonough] and I are still great, Ryan [Martinie] and I still briefly talk. I mean, the only way I personally would want to do Mudvayne is if everybody licked their wounds and got over it.”

Audiotopsy have tour plans in the works, and as soon as any details about dates or the album release are revealed, we'll let you know.
