Anthrax's live commitments have mostly wound down at this point, which made the timing perfect for drummer Charlie Benante to undergo surgery. The musician posted a photo of his left hand in a cast, but revealing that things may not be as serious as they look.

In a Facebook posting, Benante explained, "Surgeon fixed my hand, nothing broken, just carpal tunnel … behind my Anthrax drum kit soon, 9/13 in San Bernardino."

As for that Sept. 13 date Benante was referring to, it's the Battle of San Bernardino concert that will feature a number of metal giants. The band will play the California town with Megadeth and Iron Maiden. Other bands on the bill include Testament, Sabaton and Overkill.

Meanwhile, Anthrax are currently transitioning from live support of their 'Worship Music' album to beginning work on their next album.
