Metal and the Mouse House might seem like strange bedfellows -- especially when the Disney-owned House of Blues venues started banning some metal bands from playing their establishments due to what they deemed questionable values. But perhaps the two sides are beginning to understand one another a little more, since Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante is joining forces with Disney to create Vinylmation collectible figures, which are on sale at Disney Parks and Resorts. This particular line of figurines are based on Mickey Mouse and they boast urban looks and depict a spate of Disney park attractions and assorted icons.

Benante is a consummate Disney fan, citing 'Fantasia' as the catalyst for tapping into his own creativity. The skinsman has a serious love for Disney animation and for Mickey himself.

Benante has designed nine music-inspired Vinylmation characters which stand at nine inches, intricately winding a gauze-like material reminiscent of sheet music around the figure from head to toe, creating an almost mummified appearance. In addition, Benante has three other figures on the docket called 'Kisses.'

Oh, and what about Benante's other gig? Well, Anthrax are wrapping up the Jägermeister Fall Music Tour with Slayer and Megadeth, whom they toured with in 1991 as part of the Clash of the Titans Tour. Anthrax continue to work on their new album, due in early 2011. It will feature their most popular singer Joey Belladonna, who recently returned to the fold.
