Animals as Leaders, the progressive instrumental project of eight-string guitar virtuoso Tosin Abasi (ex-Reflux, Born of Osiris), is currently preparing for its first ever tour: a three-week run alongside Between the Buried and Me. Set to kick off on Nov. 7 in Kettering, Ohio, Abasi has announced his backing band as Javier Reyes, Chebon Littlefield, and drummer Navene Koperweis (Animosity, the Faceless).

Commenting on the endeavor, Abasi states, "Navene and I have actually been talking about working together for quite some time now, I'm stoked that it's finally going down! Anyone who has seen his work with Animosity or the Faceless or heard his solo project Fleshrot understands what he's capable of on both drums and guitar."

In addition to the BTBAM dates, Animals As Leaders will also play a one-off show with fellow prog instrumentalists and labelmates Scale the Summit in Dallas on Nov. 17.

The band's self-titled debut was released earlier this year to critical acclaim, even hailed as "inctricate instru-metal of the highest caliber."
