Ex-'American Idol' contestant James Durbin is a professed metal fan. During an un-aired segment of 'Idol,' Durbin performed 'Living After Midnight' and 'Breaking the Law' with Judas Priest. Blabbermouth reports that Durbin also sang the Skid Row classics '18 and Life' and 'I Remember You' with an acoustic guitar, but the performances were not cleared by producers and did not air.

Former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach was incensed, posting a note online saying, "Who makes these decisions and why? How? He was told he could do a Bon Jovi song, but not Skid Row? Very interesting. And s---ty."

We'll agree with Bach on that one.

Watch James Durbin perform the two Skid Row songs below. The kid is talented and certainly has a love for '80s metal. Let's hope he remains immersed in metal as he moves beyond his time on 'American Idol.'
