All Out WarAll Out War were one of the earliest groups to fuse hardcore and metal in the early to mid-90s, ultimately becoming one of the (many) midwives birthing the sound now known as metalcore.

The band may have been a bit dormant for the past two years performance-wise, but they've "never stopped." They remained playing in the studio for the past couple years. And now their latest, 'Into the Killing Fields,' will be out through longtime label Victory Records in August.

"The new stuff is faster than the older stuff," vocalist Mike Score told Noisecreep. "It has more of a thrash/crossover feel to it. Lou from Breakdown is now playing drums, and he adds an entirely new element to the band. I could say all the typical crap about how it is our most brutal to date, but I'll let people judge for themselves. It was a very positive experience writing and recording the material. I would like to thank Tim Gilles and Big Blue Meanie for his friendship and for another top notch recording."

While All Out War probably desire not an ounce of credit for the oversaturated metalcore scene, Score admits he doesn't keep up with what's going on, saying, "I pay no attention. We have never fit in, and I don't see us fitting in now. I'm not really sure what is going on now to tell you the truth. Live and let live, but like it or not we are here to stay."

All Out War will return to the touring circuit imminently, but when and how is up to them. "[It'll be] on our own time and by our own rules," Score said. He finished with, "Thanks to all the people who have stood by us for almost 20 years. It's been a long strange ride to say the least. Avoid hero worship and stay truth to yourself. In the end you will be standing alone anyway."
