The death of GWAR frontman Dave Brockie (aka Oderus Urungus) has resulted in countless tributes taking many forms, but this is certainly one of the most unique. On May 3, the 'All Hail GWAR!' memorial art show will open, with nearly 100 artists set to display their GWAR-inspired works during the month-long, free, all-ages event.

The world lost Dave Brockie on March 23, as GWAR's enigmatic mastermind was found dead in his Richmond, Va. home. Although a cause of death has not yet been released, the case is being investigated as drug-related due to evidence found at the scene.

Despite Brockie's passing, the 5th annual GWAR-B-Q will be held as planned, while a memorial celebration will take place the day before. The Dave Brockie Foundation has also been set up in the singer's honor, raising money to help fund the dreams of creative people as well as preserving the legacy of Brockie's works.

As for the 'All Hail GWAR!' art showcase, the MF Gallery in Brooklyn, N.Y. will host the celebration beginning Saturday, May 3 from 7-10 PM. Brockie's music from GWAR, Death Piggy and the Dave Brockie Experience will set the event's mood, while projections of various GWAR / Dave Brockie videos will be shown.

Opening night will host a 'Cash & Carry' sale, with one-third of the proceeds going to the Dave Brockie Foundation. Fans will also be able to purchase the art on display via the MF Gallery website throughout the month-long exhibition.
