Alice Cooper, ‘Born This Way’: Lady Gaga Cover Closes Bonnaroo Set

Alice Cooper and Lady Gaga aren’t so different, what with the love of makeup and costumes and spectacle and all, so it was probably inevitable that the pioneering shock rocker would eventually cover “Born This Way.”

Alice worked the Gaga smash into his set Friday night in Biloxi, Miss., and the following evening, he used it to cap his set at Bonnaroo.

As the video below shows, the crowd ate it up, and while we’re not sure if he changed any of the lyrics — we’re far, far too metal to be familiar with the original — Cooper certainly seemed to play the song with reverence.

“Thank you, Bonnaroo,” he said, following his rendition. “Thank you, Gaga.”
