It's been a summer of mourning for After the Burial. The group dropped out of plans to play the Summer Slaughter tour earlier this summer, deciding to take some time for themselves after the death of guitarist Justin Lowe.

As a refresher, Lowe issued a conspiracy-filled exit letter from the group and briefly went missing. It was clear from the letter that the musician was not in a stable state of mind. In  mid-July, the musician's sister reported that he had gone missing, and on July 21 his body was found by a hiker near a Wisconsin bridge. Police reported that the cause of death was consistent with a fall.

A few days after Lowe's death was revealed, the band issued a statement that they were bowing out of the Summer Slaughter tour, as each of the band members needed time with their families to process what had happened and recover from the loss. They would later turn up at the Minneapolis stop of the Summer Slaughter tour, stating that it was their intention to "keep moving forward" and that they would eventually return.

Now they've announced plans to hit the road with The Faceless in November and December. Dates begin Nov. 5 in San Diego and continue through Dec. 11 in Anaheim, Calif. The band also issued a statement on their return that reads as follows:

As you know, we canceled our appearance on the Summer Slaughter tour to spend time with friends and family in an effort to rebuild after the loss of our brother.

Everybody deals with tragedy in their own way, and at their own pace. Each way is unique to that person, but the common goal that all people share is to get back to living a normal life. A normal life to us is being on the road, meeting our fans, and sharing our music with the world.

We're excited to announce this upcoming tour with The Faceless. It represents a huge step forward emotionally for us in the band. We still have the drive and motivation to deliver music to you guys, and we want you all to be able to look to us for strength.

We wouldn't be here without your support, and we want to give it back to you. We love you all, and we'll see you on the road.
