It's been a productive summer for AFI, thanks to the release of their first single 'I Hope You Suffer' from their upcoming album 'Burials.' Now the band are streaming the infectiously catchy track '17 Crimes' on YouTube. Expect the new cut to get tons of play, as it's also one of the tunes featured on 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' soundtrack.

AFI's three decade-spanning success rests on the goth punk outfit's ability to never sound dated with their hook-laden aesthetic and an innate stage presence that's a rarity in the music business. '17 Crimes' should continue their popularity, as the band vocalist Davey Havok belts out one of their most memorable choruses with 'Let's love and kill like 17 now.'

Even though killing like a teenager shouldn't be taken in a literal sense, one has to wonder if AFI will continue the dark mood from their 'I Hope You Suffer' video onto '17 Crimes,' or if their new song will just feature clips from 'The Mortal Instruments.' Either way, with two solid singles under their belt, AFI should easily craft a successful follow up to their 2009 effort 'Crash Love.'

In support of 'Burials,' which comes out Oct. 22, AFI is hitting the road next month, with North American dates lasting through early November. 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' soundtrack hits stores Aug. 20.
