The 2017 Loudwire Music Awards will be here before you know it and we've revealed a few more items that are certain to interest rock and metal fans. First off, the Loudwire Music Awards has teamed with the Berklee College of Music and Metal Blade Records for the first ever Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Summit on Oct. 24. And it's also been confirmed that Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta and SiriusXM's Jose Mangin will co-host the Loudwire Music Awards "black carpet" festivities.

The Summit includes a series of three panels that will feature Sammy Hagar, Rob Halford, Steve Vai, Brendon Small, Rex Brown, Alex Skolnick, Frank Bello and Blasko, among others taking place at the Grammy Museum just before the official Loudwire Music Awards concert and ceremony, which will kick off at 7PM PT next door at the Novo.

These three free panels are designed to hit on hot-button issues for artists in the industry today, giving these rock icons and industry pros the chance to share their opinions. The first panel is titled "Streaming for Vengeance." It's set to take place from 12 noon to 1:15PM and centers on the future of music creation and streaming technology. Guitar great Steve Vai and Galaktikon's Brendon Small will head up the panel with more to be announced, while Panos Panay of the Berklee College of Music will moderate.

"Berklee is thrilled to be presenting the 'Streaming for Vengeance' panel at the 2017 Loudwire Music Awards Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Summit. At this critical juncture of the music industry, nothing is more important than discussing, debating and envisioning the future of artist compensation and music consumption," says Panay, the VP of Innovation and Strategy at the Berklee College of Music.

The second panel, titled "Surviving the Music Industry," will take place from 1:15PM to 2:30PM at the Grammy Museum with Pantera legend Rex Brown, Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick, Anthrax bassist Frank Bello and Ozzy Osbourne bassist Blasko taking part. Metal Blade Records CEO and founder Brian Slagel will moderate the discussion, which is being presented by Metal Blade.

“Super excited to be working with out friends at Loudwire on a great panel and events for the Awards. We hope to give you guys some great insight and info from all our years of experience. This all should make for a memorable event,” says Slagel.

And finally, Loudwire's own Graham Hartmann will do a live Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction for those in attendance with Judas Priest's Rob Halford and Sammy Hagar taking part. This runs from 2:30PM to 3:45PM, with the two rock and metal legends breaking down the truths and falsehoods of what's included on their Wikipedia page.
