Lady Gaga has revealed to U.K.'s The Sun that one of her biggest influences is Def Leppard. Wait ... Def Leppard? Yes, that's correct. Apparently Phil Collen and co. have helped shape Gaga's early artist-hood by finding their way into the singer's stadium-sized hooks.

"With my music there's lots of really big Def Leppard-style melodies in the choruses but it's electronic dance music. I'd call it avant-garde techno rock. It is very hard and very edgy," Lady Gaga tells the Sun. "There are a lot of rock influences on the album but not that it is rock music.

The 'Born This Way' fame has been a long time fan of metal music ever since her father Joe blasted vinyl records at their home in New Jersey. Gaga has always been so enamored with the sexy sounds of 'Pour Some Sugar on Me' that she hired long-time Leppard producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange to work on country hit 'You and I.'

"It is an exploration of electronic music and techno songs but I have created a genre of metal/dance/techno/rock/pop music with a lot of anthemic choruses, because that is actually the music I love," the singer says of her latest album.

With all the love given to Def Leppard, perhaps a collaboration is in store?
