Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess released Sample Wiz, a sampling app for iOS devices via iTunes just last month. The app allows users to capture and/or create new, fully customizable samples. The app has pretty much taken off, which absolutely thrills Rudess, who has launched a killer new contest in conjunction with the app. Gadget geeks are gonna love this contest, that's for sure.

"SampleWiz has people jamming on my custom lead sounds all over the world," Rudess told Noisecreep. "It's started a wild and crazy scene out there and I'm pretty blown away!" As for the contest? Rudess said, "MacProVideo is my personal favorite source for online Mac training, and I'm really excited to be able to hold this contest in cooperation with them."

The contest features some great prizes, including meeting Dream Theater while on tour. But that's not even the half of it! "To top it off, I created some very cool new sounds that you can grab when you sign up for the contest for free," Rudess said.

So get grabbing by going here.

The contest has a prizes for everyone, so by signing up for a free MacProVideo.com account, you can download free SampleWiz samples and enter the "Name That SampleWiz Sound" contest courtesy of Rudess.
